Arthur C. Nelson is the PI for such NITC projects as "
Do TODs Make a Difference?" and "
National Study of BRT Development Outcomes." These reports have led to more than a dozen manuscripts that have been published, accepted for publication, or in review. They have also been featured in webinars, press conferences, news media outlets, and academic and professional conferences. Nelson pioneered the genre of research that applies economic base tools to assess the outcomes to transit investment over time with respect to changes in the number and share of: jobs by sector with respect to type of system and distance from stations; jobs by wage category with respect to type of system and distance from stations; and population, households, householders by age, and housing by tenure with respect to type of system and distance from stations.
